Rajahmundry is a place of historical and religious significance. It is famous for it?s political, social, economical and cultural background. It was earlier called as ?Rajamahendrapuram?. The name underwent many changes with the changes in the dynasties. Rajahmundry was ruled over by Vengi Chalukyas, Kakatiyas, Reddy?s, Qutubshahis, the French and the British.
